Dear Christ Church,
This past Sunday I preached on God’s design for Radical Marriage. Whether you are single or married, happily married or struggling married, divorce or divorced and now remarried, there was something for each one of us in Ephesians 5:22-33.
I didn’t receive any questions this week, so that gave me time to think up some questions to ask you:
How might you be tempted to think that the picture (marriage) might be better than the real thing (God)?
How can you be an encouragement to the marriages around you? Remember Ephesians 5:22-33 was written by a single!
For those dating/engaged:
How does your “significant other” exemplify the godly characteristics laid out in this passage? (Don’t think they will magically start changing once you get married!)
How can you grow in exemplifying these godly characteristics now? Does the person you are with encourage you in your role?
Is your relationship helping you experience the joy of growing in your love for God?
For those who are married:
How often do you pray for your spouse? How often do you pray with your spouse? (Have a conversation and see how you can grow)
What are you encouraged about right now in your marriage? (God is always at work, don’t miss out on being able to praise Him for His work!)
When was the last time you asked your spouse how you could grow in being their wife/husband?
How are you currently seeking to help your spouse experience the joy of loving God more deeply and living for Him more faithfully?
Grace to you!
