Story Saturday: Something Bigger than US

Dear Christ Church,

Last week I was away at the annual pastors retreat for Sovereign Grace churches in the Northeast.  It was an amazing to spend 48 hours together praying, singing, listening to teaching, talking about future mission opportunities and getting updates about stuff God is doing all over the Northeast and the world.  I loved hearing about conversion stories from local churches, the progress of the pastor’s college we sponsor in Zambia, missionaries that went to Pakistan and new churches that are being planted.  There were some significant times of ministry and the Holy Spirit richly blessed us in those times.

You don’t often get an opportunity to experience the benefit of us being part of Sovereign Grace Churches. You definitely will this coming July at Celebration Northeast.  But most of the time our partnership with Sovereign Grace is only directly experienced by the pastors.  However, you are indirectly experiencing the benefits.  These times significantly strengthen and refresh me.  Also through Sovereign Grace, we are able to be part of things that God is doing all around the world.  I have the privilege of serving on both the church planting committee and finance committee.  So I get to help strategize, train and deploy new church planters that are reaching new neighbors with the gospel and I get to be part of determining how our collective money is used to fund the mission.

Here’s just one story of a church that we were able to plant in an unreached area of Croatia.

I hope this encourages you about the big things that God is doing around the world and the great opportunity that we have to be part of it with our global family of churches.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Jeff
