Dear Christ Church,
Every week as I look out at you I am amazed at how different you all are. You are single, married, young adults, seniors, white collar, blue collar, no collar, black, white, asian, hispanic, spiritual searcher, new Christian, decades old Christian, etc… The list of our differences goes on and on. And so as I look out on our congregation what I see is a church that is only possible because of Christmas. Christmas tells us that God came to earth to live the perfect life that we fail to live, die the death that we deserve and rise to the new life that we need. This is the gospel, the good news of who Jesus is and what that means for each one of us. Only the good news of Jesus allows for the kind of unity that we have amidst all our diversity.
As we gather tomorrow at our special Christmas Eve service, let’s be freshly grateful for what God has done to bring about this community. See you at 3pm. Can’t wait to worship with you!
Grace and Peace,
